.........................‘Do
not all charms fly. ......................... .........................At the mere touch of cold philosophy?....
.............................................................. (John
Keats)
We all wish we we could feel more inspired, yet inspiration
strikes every one of us many times a day. What we most need is a way
to harness our inspiration and this, luckily, is something
that can be learnt.
The Romantic poet John Keats believed that in seeking
to understanding how a thing works, or is constructed, its beauty or
specialness is lost. Nothing could be further from the truth.
Knowing how and why creativity occurs makes
more creativity possible;
it allows greater flexibility and productivity.
CG employs the Creative
Thinking techniques Zoë pioneered for City University's
Adult Learning department in 2003 and which she has workshopped and
lectured on at venues such as the Winchester Writers Festival 2005 and
the SpitLit Women’s International Writing Festival 2006. Using pattern
thinking; analysing the causes of creative blocks; stimulating right-brain
engagement through non-verbal means, and other well-documented techniques
that by-pass the conscious mind,
CG encourages curiosity, the
acceptance of paradox and doubt, intellectual rigour and the challenge
of positive critique. Zoë’s extensive academic and research training
enables clients to formulate, structure and express the new insights
and concepts that CG
inspires.
